For any professional who handles confidential documents.

In development: this site describes the first release. Details may change before launch.

Consultants, HR professionals, accountants, advisors: if your files are confidential, Nodus's General profile gives you the same AI, running on your own computer.

A workplace investigation

You are an HR consultant running a workplace investigation: interview notes, a folder of emails and the employer's policy manual.

  1. Add the investigation folder. Nodus indexes it on your computer.
  2. Line up the events. You ask for the events the interview notes describe, in date order, and check the list against the notes.
  3. Draft the findings. You ask for a first draft of the findings section, and rewrite it in your own judgement.
  4. Test your reasoning. You ask a larger cloud model whether your conclusions follow from the facts. Nodus shows you the text with names replaced before anything is sent.
Processed on your computer
The notes, the emails, the manual, the timeline and the draft.
Sent to a cloud model, with your permission
One request, with names replaced.

What it does

  • Ask questions about your own documents. Point Nodus at the folders you choose; it indexes them on your computer and answers from them.
  • Summarise and analyse long documents in a chat.
  • Dictate. Speech recognition runs on your computer.
  • Draft a first version of a letter, memo or note for you to review.
  • Draft in your own style, learned from a few of your own documents.
  • Transcribe recorded audio into your document library.
  • Read your Microsoft 365 mail and calendar, and add calendar entries after you have previewed them.

Nodus also has a Financial Advisory profile.

Questions

When can I use it?

Ferox Nodus is in development and there is no public release yet. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when it's ready.

How much will it cost?

Pricing will be announced at launch.

What do I need?

On a Mac: Apple silicon, macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, and at least 16 GB of memory.

On Windows: a 64-bit Intel or AMD PC with a version of Windows 11 that Microsoft still supports, and at least 16 GB of memory. No graphics card or NPU is required. Windows 10 22H2, Windows 11 on ARM and PCs with less memory run on a best-effort basis, with a notice.

Windows?

Yes. Ferox Nodus is one product for Mac and Windows: the same features, under the same rules. Both are being built at the same time, on one shared core.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once its models have downloaded. Chat, your document library and dictation work without an internet connection.

Do you train AI models on my content?

Not unless you choose to send it to us for that. Sharing is always manual: you see exactly what will be sent, with names and identifiers replaced, and nothing goes until you confirm.

Does Nodus send anything to Ferox?

Crash reports, if you agree: Nodus asks once, the first time it opens. They help us fix bugs and are designed to contain none of your content, and you can change your answer in Settings. On Windows, Microsoft's app framework may also send Microsoft diagnostic data. The Security page says exactly what.

Is it available in Québec?

Not at first launch. We are building to Québec's Law 25 so that we can offer it there later.

Is it PIPEDA compliant?

No software can make you compliant, and no regulator certifies products. Nodus is built to help you meet your privacy obligations under PIPEDA, Alberta's PIPA and Québec's Law 25; you stay responsible for how you use it.
